Don Bosco High School, Tuem held the campaign for the school students council after a gap of two years, giving the students from class 1 to 10 an experience to witness the entire process of elections in a Democracy on 18 June 2022.
The contesting candidates were given specific time in the afternoon to address the students by visiting the different classrooms for their respective posts of the head boy, head girl, four house captains, vice captains and sports secretary. The elections were held on Monday. It was an occasion for the students to elect their representatives to the student’s council and more still a learning point for the students to vote without any external pressures. For the first time students went to a special polling booth where secret voting took place, using a ballot paper and a stamp. The Ballot boxes were very confidentially sealed by the Presiding officer in the presence of the polling officers and placed in the custody of the Headmaster of the school.
